Are you secure in your calling?

Dear Friends,

We are in the midst of some of the most challenging economic turmoil that our country and our world have ever experienced. When faced with the continuing onslaught of calls from your clients who are worried about their investment portfolios and life savings, it can be easy to get discouraged and disheartened, and even begin to question your own advice.

It’s natural to feel some anxiety about negative worldly events. We are, after all, human. Yet, as always, Christians know that we will find comfort and encouragement in God’s transcendent truths. And as always, as Christian financial advisors, we can rely on sage Biblical wisdom to guide our financial counsel in times of uncertainty.

What can we as financial advisors, who are also often called on by our clients to offer life counsel, do to reassure others that “this too shall pass?” I found incredible encouragement in Romans 8 recently. That scripture is filled with meaningful messages that are particularly relevant today; it reminds us that we are secure in the love of our heavenly Father, we are secure in our eternal destiny and we are secure in the work that God has called us to do at this place and time. We are in the right vocation, uniquely positioned to unite our faith and our work to serve others especially now, when they need us most.

You know, God truly works in amazing ways. Stop for a moment and think about this time of year. It’s when God’s green earth explodes into glorious springtime rebirth. Maybe that’s what the world is on the cusp of, too … the rebirth of financial responsibility, the avoidance of debt, and a recommitment by people to live a generous life.

Encourage your clients who are looking to feel at peace to read Romans 8, too. “Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” What a cause for celebration!

How do you know you are secure in your calling? How do you draw upon that sense of security to serve others, especially now when times are uniquely challenging? Share your story below and inspire others.

May God’s eternal wisdom continue to guide you as you serve others who are so desperately seeking Biblical guidance and counsel.

Blessings,

Ron

Thank you for reminding us that our general calling secures our eternal destinies and that through this, our love for Christ and his work on the cross, motivates our love for others. What a special calling we have as Kingdom Advisors to offer counsel about real security. Isn't it interesting that most of us are securities licensed in this world and we have the greater privilege(license) to offer the good news about eternal security!!

Thanks for your encouragement Ron. It reminds me that my calling is to be an encouragement to our clients and remind them what is really important to us. It is definitely not all the fear tactics of the media.
