Rehearsing Your Problems
Dear Friends,
How many of us are sleeping less at night because we’re tossing and turning as our minds replay the day’s events and the latest doom and gloom media reports? If you’re like me, you have the tendency to get too caught up in the daily swings from bad news to good news and back again. Living on that roller coaster is no way to live… so what can we do?
It’s important to remember that we are indeed human and it’s OK to feel overwhelmed at times. It’s natural to experience anxiety as we question if we are counseling our clients in the right way, if our own families will be all right, if we are doing enough to help others. Thankfully, we can go back to God’s word and take comfort in the knowledge that if we are following Biblical principles in our financial counsel with others, as well in the way we live our own lives, then we might be able to avoid experiencing some of that anxiety in the first place.
Still, life’s challenges can be overwhelming at times. Yet, the answer is still the same! Even when we succumb to our natural, normal human tendencies to worry and fret about the future, God’s word once again, and as always, provides reassurance that we are not alone and He will take care of us.
• Psalm 55:22 – “Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you.”
• 1 Peter5:7 – “Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.”
• Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Share these passages with your clients when they come to you expressing anxiety about their finances and other problematic life situations they may be facing. Your strong counsel, coupled with specific wisdom from God’s word, will provide you and your clients with the clarity you need to work through current challenges and embrace hope for the future.
Was there a time when you felt overwhelmed by anxiety and worry, and then cast that burden onto the Lord to feel the relief from His word? Share your story below and inspire others.
Blessings,
Ron

Yep, trust is tough, as it's so easy to worry. But we have a Father who's shoulders are plenty big enough for what we need to share. Thanks for doing these.

Worrying about what I can't control can sure absorb a lot of mental and emotional energy. Energy that I should and could be using to following God's call in my life right now today. We've always had very little control over the future. Our current crisis is just making that more obvious and for that, I am glad.

Amen. I recently heard Joyce Meyer say that worry is like a rocking chair. It is always in motion but not going anywhere. See Philipians 4:6,7 (NIV). It's been real helpful to me. Thanks.

I read somewhere: "Before you go to bed, give your troubles to God - He will be up all night anyway".

I'VE HAD THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MAKING MINTHLY FEE INCOME REPORTS TO BANK BOARD OF DIRS. ON ONE SUCH OCCASSION, I KNEW THE "DECK" -ATMOSPHERE WAS VERY NEGATIVE AGAINST THE EXPECTED REPORT. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE TO GO WITH ME OR INSTEAD OF ME. BEFORE I INTERED THE DOORS I GAVE MY WORRY AND FRETS TO MY SAVIOR= LORD OF LORDS & KING OF KINGS. AS I STARTED I MENTIONED THAT I HAD DONE JUST THAT TO THE GROUP. GOD BROUGHT WATER FRON A ROCK RIGHT INFRONT OF MY EYES. HE MELTED AND TURNED THE MTG TO A TIME OF TESTIMONY FOR HIM. HIS NAME WAS LIFTED. I KNOW HE IS REAL!! HE LIVES IN MY HEART.
