Walk in His Ways
Dear Friends,
As a Christian, you know that God has given each of us a purpose. For some, following God’s unique purpose will be life changing for ourselves and others within our personal sphere of influence. For others, it will impact people worldwide. Large or small, your purpose has significance and importance and meaning. Consider the famous words from the popular movie, “Your mission, should you choose to accept it…” Do you accept your mission? Are you willing to do whatever He asks you to do? Are you listening to His word and walking in His ways?
In past blogs, I’ve written about how God is our protector and provider, how He is in control and we are His stewards. If you embrace those beliefs, you may also find yourself asking God for His help on a regular basis. If you don’t like the answer you get, do you ask again or do what you want to do anyway? That is not meeting God’s command to obey Him, because partial obedience isn’t really obedience at all. It’s picking and choosing what we like and don’t like, and following only the rules that we think are in our best interests or are the easiest to follow. It’s justifying our decisions or making excuses when things go badly. If only we had listened in the first place and walked in His ways, obeying Him even if we don’t “agree” with what He tells us!
Sometimes walking patiently along the path He reveals to us can be hard because it means turning away from our own plans. But in that turning away, we are turning toward something far greater. In today’s “get it done now” world, it can also be hard to remain patient when things seem to be taking so long to happen! God has a timetable for our lives, even if we want the right answer right now. Have you ever considered that maybe the roadblocks in our personal and professional lives were placed there intentionally to make us stop and consider what we are doing, where we are going, and why?
As a Kingdom Advisor, you integrate your faith and your profession, and you view your work as your ministry. If you should lose sight of that “higher calling” from time to time, slow down and listen to God. I bet He will reveal to you why He has placed you where he has. And I’m certain that if you listen carefully, He will also remind you of what He asks of you… to walk in His ways to fulfill your destiny for His glory.
Consider your own talents, passions and circumstances. There is a reason why God has placed you in Kingdom Advisors and why He has given you the talent to advise others on important life matters. Are you willing to give up your ways and accept that while you may think you know what’s best for you, only God knows what is truly best for you? Are you walking in His ways? Share your story!
Blessings,
Ron
