Breaking the Power of Money
Dear Friends,
I am sure that many of you have either taken or led Crown Financial Ministries classes over the years. One of the most powerful aspects of a Crown class, in my opinion, is the “Quit Claim Deed” that participants fill out after the first week in order to recognize God’s true ownership of all of their possessions.
In the video, I read I Chronicles 29:14, “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” I am struck, in re-reading this verse, by the entirety of the statement. Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
How many days do I wake up feeling some level of anxiety or stress about decisions over my possessions - over fear of loss, over frustrations that they break down, over confusion about decisions that I am making? I am sure that I am not alone in my attachment, at a heart level, to my possessions and their hold on my life.
What a gift to be able to open my hand each day, to recognize that all of my possessions are God’s, and to be able to share out of that abundance (or even out of a perceived lack) with those in need. I am so grateful for the Word of God that can loosen the grip of a heart turned toward ownership, management, and possession and allow it to be a conduit of generosity, grace, and abundance in this hurting world.
I pray that He is more real to you today as you acknowledge Him as Source.
Blessings,
Ron
