Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life

Dear Friends,

Today I am grateful for my Savior. The world is a hurried, painful, and sometimes confusing place. It is so good to know that He humbled Himself and made a way for me to enter into to the rest, health, and clarity of a relationship with my Creator and Father. As I write to you and ponder John 14:6 again today, I thought it would be an encouragement to you to consider a few verses that speak more fully to Jesus being the way, the truth, and the life.

He is the way. His way is one of humility, repentance, and grace. It is not works oriented or widely traveled. It is the way of life, and it is worth seeking out.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13 – 14

He is the truth. His truth is fundamental to our freedom. It is not conventional truth or easy truth. It is the truth of a different Kingdom and another reality.

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8:31 – 32

He is the life. His life was given so that our life could be secure. It is not a life of ease or ignorance. It is, however, a life of fullness and true Sabbath rest.

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:9-10

Thank you for being fellow sojourners on the way. Thank you for basing your financial advice on truth. Thank you for “taking hold of the life that is truly life” (I Tim. 6:19) through Jesus.

Blessings,

Ron
